Since October 7th, 2023, Israeli forces funded and enabled by the United States of America, have committed in genocide in Gaza, killing over 30,000 (as of 3/1/24) Palestinian civilians. They have displaced 1.9 million Gazans, which is over 85% of the population. While this disproportionate slaughter and ethnic cleansing is staggering, it is unfortunately part of Palestinian existence since 1948. Especially for those Palestinians still living under occupation in Gaza, as well as those living under apartheid rule in the Occupied Territories of the West Bank.
This series of portraits aims to highlight many of the faces we've seen in the last few months. From the faces of the heroes on the ground reporting to us, to those saving lives while risking their own. To the faces of those abroad fighting for an end to this genocide, as well as those abroad falling victim to the accepted and encouraged rise of Anti-Arab and Islamophobic sentiment in the West. Finally, of course, the faces of those whose hands are covered in blood for their active role in the genocide.
