The video of Khaled Nabhan clutching his deceased granddaughter Reem in his arms has both haunted and inspired me from the first moment I saw it. His strength and grace in that moment as he clutched his soul in his arms one last time would have moved me regardless of who was in the video. The fact that it was a man that looked exactly like the archetype that the West has attempted to brainwash us all for decades to associate with pure evil, made these images even more striking, as a man who we’re supposed to associate with such evil, is able to exhibit more strength and beauty in the face of absolute hell than those more “civilized” individuals could ever wish to posses.
Reem is one of the over 26,000 Palestinians and 12,000 children killed since 10/7.
139 children die a day in Gaza.
Ceasefire now.
