The Al-Nilin mosque in Omdurman, Sudan is one of the most unique and beautiful mosques in the world. Its unique exterior is somehow dwarfed by its beautiful and intricate interior designs. This piece honors the colors and patterns found within the tiles of the dome’s interior.

A civil war between armies within Sudan fighting for power in the last few months has added to the already turbulent uncertainty and chaos that the country’s people have endured for over a decade.

Over half a million Sudanese have been displaced in the last 40 weeks. Those who haven’t died face horrific conditions, and the threat of death not just from violence, but from the frightening rise in diseases such as Cholera.

The UNHCR is raising funds to help those displaced Sudanese get the aid they need as they, and the country, fight for their lives.
